4-year-old girl dies in hot car after being forgotten by family, says police
HOUSTON (KTRK) - A 4-year-old girl is dead after she was left Wednesday evening in a hot car.
Houston Police said after running errands, the adults noticed that she was missing.
Police were called around 6:30 p.m. to an apartment complex off Hollister Street near Woodland Oaks Drive on Houston's Northwest Side. The little girl was found inside a truck suffering from heat exhaustion.
Investigators said earlier in the day, the little girl was with two women and other children out running errands. When they got home, they unloaded the truck and everyone got out except for the little girl. Police said it appears she was just forgotten.
The girl was taken to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
No word on if anyone is facing any charges in connection with the little girl's death.
