Jefferson City woman indicted for manslaughter in hot vehicle-related death

A Cole County grand jury indicted a Jefferson City woman on Sept. 11 for involuntary manslaughter for an incident in which someone died after being locked in a vehicle in high temperatures.

Tre'Davyah Edwards is in the Cole County Jail on $100,000 bond. The indictment said the incident happened on Aug. 17 when the victim, identified only as a female, was left in a locked vehicle.

The exact location of the incident hasn't been released. According to the National Weather Service, the high temperature for Jefferson City on Aug. 17 was 89 degrees Fahrenheit.

No court date has been set for Edwards.
