3-Month-Old Dies in Hot Car
GREENVILLE - On Monday, August 19th, the Greenville Police Department received a call from the 700 block of Manilla in reference to a father taking a child and not bringing the child home.
When officers arrived, they contacted the mother of the infant, who advised that the child’s father, Raphael Montgomery, had left their 3-month-old son in the car while he was at work. Officers then made contact at Delta Health Systems and were advised by hospital staff that the infant was deceased. The father was taken into custody and transported to the police department, where he was charged with Felony Child Deprivation of Necessaries with Substantial Harm. Montgomery is currently being held in the Washington County Regional Correctional Facility awaiting his initial appearance.
