Officials said the girl's father went to pick her up at the Storybook Nursery
on Oakridge Road, just east of Winegard Road, in south Orange County after he
got off work Thursday.
When Gabriel Saavedra, 25, arrived, he was told that his daughter, Kayli, had never been dropped off. So, he went outside and discovered her in the backseat.
It's believed that the child was in the car for most of the day.
Workers at the day-care center tried to perform CPR on the baby, but could not get a pulse. Paramedics were called to the day-care center around 5:30 p.m., but the infant had no vital signs.
High temperatures rose to the mid-90s in Central Florida Thursday.
