Child left inside car dies in south Mississippi

A three-year-old child died Thursday afternoon after being left inside a car in the Bond community in south Mississippi.

The Stone County fire chief confirmed to WLOX News the department responded to the call. The vehicle was parked outside a residence.

It is not know how long the child was in the vehicle before he was discovered.


Boy found unresponsive inside vehicle in Forrest County

FORREST COUNTY, MS (WDAM) -
The Forrest County Sheriff’s Department is currently investigating a tragic incident where a child was found dead inside a vehicle.

Shortly before 3 p.m. on Thursday, Stone County Sheriff's Department responded to a 911 call about an unresponsive child in South Forrest County near the Bond Community.

According to Stone County Chief Deputy Phyllis Olds, upon arrival, the 3-year-old boy was in full cardiac arrest. Olds said the child was immediately taken by ambulance to Stone County Hospital, but never woke up.

Forrest County investigators are currently taking statements from the individuals involved to try to find out exactly what happened. No arrests have been made at this time. The child’s body has been sent to Jackson for an autopsy.
