SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- A 3-month-old baby boy has died after being found in a hot car Wednesday, according to police.

The car was parked behind B.T.'s Sports Pub at Scottsdale and Thunderbird roads.

People on the scene said the child's father works in the kitchen at the bar and he forgot that the child was in the car.

The father was very distraught after learning about what happened.

The child was in the car for more than one hour, according to Sgt. Tommy Thompson with the Phoenix Police Department.

Crews from the Phoenix Fire Department and officers from the Phoenix Police Department responded when the situation was reported at 11:50 a.m.

The baby was rushed to Scottsdale Healthcare Shea in extremely critical condition and was later pronounced dead.
