A seven-month-old baby left inside a hot car Tuesday afternoon has died.

The baby was apparently left inside a car for about an hour near 76th Avenue and Thomas in the Starlight Park area of West Phoenix.

Phoenix police the baby’s mother thought an older child was bringing the baby inside the house.

An hour later, around 4 p.m., the mother realized the child was still in the car. The mother rushed the child to a neighbor’s home. They called 911 and the baby was rushed to a Phoenix hospital where he later died.
