3-month-old Dies in Car, Mother Inside Bar

A Montgomery County woman faces first degree murder charges after leaving her 3-month-old child inside a hot vehicle.

The Clarksville Police Department says at approximately 4:52 p.m. Tuesday, officials responded to an unresponsive child who was alone in a vehicle parked on the lot of a Dodge's Chicken store located on Fort Campbell Blvd.

Officials say Courtni Lee Nichols, 24, left her child, Faith Nichols, unattended in the parked vehicle while she went into the Yes Deer Lounge, which is located next door to the Dodge's Chicken business.

The child was transported to Gateway Hospital by Montgomery County EMS where she was pronounced dead.

Tuesday's weather temperature reached a high of 90 degrees; one of the hottest days of the summer.

Nichols is currently being held without bond.3-month-old Dies in Car, Mother Inside Bar
