POLICE BEAT: Baby dies in hot car while mom is at party
ALVIN
A 2-month-old baby boy left in a car died Sunday
while his mother went to a party, investigators said.
The 33-year-old mother was at a party in the 7000
block of CR 865 Sunday afternoon, according to
sheriff’s reports. The boy is believed to have died
from heat exhaustion while left in a Suzuki sedan.
“We’re assuming that’s what it is,” said Brazoria
County Sheriff’s investigator Brian Harper. “It looks
like it was accidental.” Investigators still were
looking into details of the case Monday. The case will
be handed over to the district attorney’s office,
which will determine whether any charges will
be filed, Harper said.
